The monk's role MAKES him look at the bigger picture, while another player won't necessarily have to...they have the luxury of being able to plow into the battle and fight berzerker style.

The Monk NEVER has that luxury.

He's always gotta be on guard.

Watching for the team.

Lol, maybe the monk class isn't necessarily always the best leader...but the THINKING that goes into making a GOOD monk is certainly one that IMO has a great chance of producing a leader that will have the most success with his team.

Eh? Playing as a warrior in HoH or GvG while im 'berseekering away' mindlessly on the called target ill also be tabbing round the enemies to see if there is a nearby enemy with low life that a quick change of focus could kill.
Many times iv been pummeling away at a monk, only to spot an ele charging up something that a well timed hammerbash ends, or a mesmer that an irresistable blow puts into the dirt. The trickiest part is getting back onto your original target, but thats something iv got to do as part of my job in the team.

Another aspect of 'my job' is putting my body on the line/in the way for the sake of my team. No point blocking an enemy rusher if half his team has already got past. Sometimes it better for a warrior to hassle multiple nearby enemies and draw their attention than simply focus on the one character. Better that im being spiked than my monk. Ultimatly as a warrior im the embodiement of my teams desire and power, I plough into the enemy suicidally and rampage around splitting heads and causing havoc. This however does not mean for one second I am allowed to forget my team, iv played enough to learn that the second you let something slip out of your mind could be the second that red line in the O menu depicting your teams health plummets to the ground.

I, like the other 7 members, have a job to do. That job is standing tall, looking big, taking pain, and messing up the opposition. Very little point in me doing that if my team is eating dirt or half a mile away.

You may think monks 'think more maturely' because they heal rather than kill, but I will point you to the monk posts stating 'I wont heal such and such because he said bad things to me' and end my post there....
